So I was just watching a trailer for the upcoming Christopher Nolan movie Interstellar. At first it seemed kinda cool, spaceships etc. Then I realised they were placing a lot of emphasis on Matthew McCaughney’s character leaving his two kids behind. Then they got to the line “Love is the one thing that transcends time and space.” ¿Qué?
So just what is it that Hollywood is trying to teach us about the notion of love? Does anybody really know, and if so, is there some kind of agenda? According to Hollywood love is literally magic. Is it like some kind of replacement for the increasingly irrelevant idea of religion? Ya gotta believe in something, ya just gotta!
